Thun, Switzerland

After a few days exploring the mountains in Interlaken I was craving some cities and culture, so we went on a little day trip to explore some nearby towns. Our first stop was Thun, which was only about 30 minutes north of Interlaken right off Lake Thunersee, and it was beautiful. Of course it was overcast and raining still, but I think it only added to the charm of the city. We really weren't there long enough to really enjoy all the perks of the place, but we did walk around the castle, which was awesome because it's a castle, and then walked down by the river because Jack loves water stuff. It was beautiful - colorful flowerbeds lined the river and mist floated above the tiled rooftops of the colorful buildings. There was a farmers market with fresh flowers and baked goods, and beautiful art decorated even the most mundane walls of the city. I can only imagine what this place looks like on a sunny spring day. If you're in Interlaken and looking for a nearby town to explore, this is a must-see city to enjoy!
